We have received information that the publishing Annales Zoologici intends to issue a special issue dedicated to Professor Ziemowit Olszanowski. Details below:
„Dear Colleague,
We would like to invite you to submit a paper to a special issue of Annales Zoologici dedicated to eminent Polish acarologist and our intimate friend, Professor Ziemowit Olszanowski who passed away last year.
Ziemowit was a specialist on oribatid mites, who fully understood the value of both traditional and integrative taxonomy, and their importance for ecological studies, biogeography and evolution. Papers published by Ziemowit were an inspiration for many young scientists as well as fully experienced zoologists.
It will be an honour to us to consider your manuscripts submitted to this special issue, being the memorial to our friends’ scientific legacy.
We would be particularly grateful for the submission of papers dealing with the description of new taxa named after Prof. Olszanowski.
We also kindly ask you to forward this request to all eligible persons who may be interested in submitting such contribution to our special issue.
Annales Zoologici is published quarterly by the Museum and Institute of Zoology at the Polish Academy of Sciences. It is an international journal devoted to all aspects of systematic entomology (in a broad sense).
The impact factor of the journal is now 0.841 and it is indexed by SCOPUS and WoS.
Deadline for manuscript submissions: April 30th, 2020.
